With CATIA, Nikon designers are able to transform their vision into photo-like images using real-time rendering. CATIA allows Nikon designers to study and set draft angles on their complicated products so that their 3D data can be used in tooling preparation. CATIA also allows Nikon designers to easily create detailed exteriors whilst obeying production department limitations; this greatly shortens their development time. Nikon designers believe that CATIA has become an essential tool and has overwhelmingly improved efficiency as it has reduced design lead time by 67%.
