Optimal Energy’s solution – V6 PLM
As one of CDC’s largest clients it gives us pleasure to show the progress and speed at which Optimal Energy has grown over the past year. Here is a press release stating their move forward into the future.
Optimal Energy, South African car manufacturer, will develop Joule, Africa’s first battery-powered vehicle, with the V6 solutions from Dassault Systèmes.
Optimal Energy will rely on CATIA and ENOVIA V6 for product design and data management. As well as ENOVIA 3DLIVE, to overcome the distance relationship of suppliers and partners and to be able to collaborate on the same model in real time over the Internet.
CATIA V5 for Du Toit Yacht Design
CATIA V5 was chosen by Du Toit Yacht Design to produce 3D design work, isometric sketches, 2D patterns, detailed images and CNC programming for their custom designed yachts. Anton du Toit established Du Toit Yacht Design in 2001 and by 2007 he received the Disa South African Design Excellence Award. After experiencing all other current 3D design development systems he realised that “CATIA is the most advanced single system” and has used it as a benchmark when assessing others. In addition, the level of support that he has received from Dassault Systèmes and its South African VAR, CDC, has been very valuable. CATIA allows the company to retain knowledge and understanding of vessel behaviour, aesthetics and seaworthiness which ultimately helps them to develop better, more efficient boats.
CATIA V5 & DELMIA help NMMU intergrate
The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), is addressing the industry’s demands by equipping its Engineering Faculty with the latest technology in order to train and produce engineers with the necessary industry skills.
Mecatronics students are getting hands on experience with one of the most powerfull robotic simulation programs available (DELMIA)
NMMU became one of the first universitys in the country to offer courses using Catia and Delmia as the CAD/CAM software solution.
