In general, CATIA allows you to change or customise almost anything through Tools > Options. However in some cases, such as drafting, the Tools > Options route is simply not enough and you may even want to set some predefined standards by default so that changes do not always have to be made through Tools > Options.
A common example of this is the default arrow style in CATIA drafting. In most cases many companies like to have a filled arrow style rather than an open arrow. The arrow style then normally needs to be changed manually through the properties window and this can be very time consuming. The default arrow style can actually be set through Tools > Standards in Administration Mode and this simple setting can save your company a lot of time.
- Open Arrows.
- Manually edit the arrow style through through Properties.
- Filled arrows.
Although this is a simple setting to change through the Properties menu it can be very time consuming during the detailing phase of a project. The default arrow style can be set (as well as many other drafting settings) as a standard through Tools > Standards when running CATIA in Admin Mode.
